Defence modernisation, logistics & supply chain

Maj Gen Rajan Kochhar, VSM, retired from the Indian Army as Major General Army Ordnance Corps, Central Command, after 37 years of meritorious service to the Nation. An alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College and the College of Defence Management, he holds a doctorate in Management. He is a reputed expert on defence modernisation, logistics and supply chain management.

Gen Kochhar, a prolific writer and defence analyst, has authored four books and has been invited as an expert commentator by various news TV channels. His latest book, “Breaking the Chinese Myth”, is an Amazon best-selling book.

He is a Senior Adviser with Defence Research and Studies and the Indic Research Forum, and a Member of the Manohar Parrikar Institute of Defence and Strategic Analyses, New Delhi, the United Services Institution, and the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies, New Delhi. He is also an Advisory Board Member at BHARAT NEWS, one of the brands built by the BHS founder.

Former Director General, Assam Rifles

Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, SM and VSM, was the Chairman of the Cease Fire Monitoring Group, Nagaland and North East India, in August 2018. He was the Director General of Assam Rifles, India’s oldest and largest para military force, and has held several key appointments during his long career in the Army.

He has served at the apex level in the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Home Affairs across counter insurgency, counter terrorism, border guarding and human resource management. He also has vast experience in military diplomacy, having been Defence Attaché at the Indian Embassy in Nepal for three and a half years (2004–07). A strong business development professional, Gen Chauhan holds a PhD in International Relations and Defence Studies from Panjab University, Chandigarh.

He regularly contributes articles and columns to scholarly magazines and is a constant invitee, participant and speaker at seminars and leadership forums including the IDSA, the Defence Services Staff College, the Army War College, the Officers Training Academy, the Armoured Corps Centre and School, the United Service Institution, FICCI, the India Foundation and the National Security Guard. He is also an Advisory Board Member at BHARAT NEWS.

Former Vice Chief of Air Staff

Air Marshal Anil Khosla, PVSM, AVSM, VM, is a former Vice Chief of Air Staff (VCAS) of the Indian Air Force and AOC-in-C of Eastern Air Command. He was actively involved in the formulation of Air Force war plans, force structure planning and capability building, and handled important air operations in recent times.

The Air Marshal is a distinguished fellow at the United Services Institution (USI) and the Centre of Air Power Studies (CAPS). He is on the editorial board of the College of Air Warfare Journal and the CAPS Journal (Blue Yonder), and has worked with several think tanks and organisations.

His academic work includes written papers on air power, geopolitics and security issues, the conduct of strategic exercises, book reviews, mentoring and motivational talks. He is also an Advisory Board Member at BHARAT NEWS.

Dr P M Nair, MA (Sociology), LLB, PhD (Victimology), has been a career police officer with the Indian Police Service since 1978. After 35 years of service in the IPS in various capacities in Bihar, the CBI, NHRC, UNODC and CRPF, he retired on 31 May 2013 as the Director General of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Director General of Civil Defence, Government of India.

He served Bihar for more than 15 years in various capacities from SP to IG. He served the CBI for ten years and handled several crimes including the Rajiv Gandhi assassination, the ISRO espionage case, the international arms drop at Purulia, the Sanjay Ghose abduction, terrorist crimes, human rights violations and many interstate and international organised crimes, including human trafficking. With the first crime of child trafficking for labour investigated by him in 1982, his avowed mission of preventing and combating human trafficking continues to move ahead with zeal, speed and impact.

A powerful voice in the anti-human-trafficking mission and child rights in the region, Dr Nair continues his mission of empowering vulnerable persons through skill building programmes and thereby preventing human trafficking. He is presently TATA Chair Professor at TISS and Advisor to the Chairperson, National Skill Building Mission.
