This policy explains how Bharat Homeland Security (“BHS”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information in connection with this website. It applies to this website only. Where we work with an organization under a contract, the terms of that contract govern how information is handled in that engagement.
The short version
- This is a static informational website.
- There are no user accounts and nothing to sign up for.
- We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking services on this site, and we set no non-essential cookies. Fonts are served by the site itself rather than by a third-party font service.
- The contact form does not send anything to a BHS server. It opens your own email application with the details you entered, which you review and send yourself.
Information we receive
We receive personal information only when you choose to send it to us — for example by writing to us, by calling us, or by using the contact form, which composes an email in your own email application. That information typically includes your name, your organization, your role, your email address, any phone number you provide, and whatever you tell us about your requirement.
Please do not send classified, personal-sensitive or operationally sensitive information by email. Tell us at a high level what you need and we will agree an appropriate channel with you.
Hosting and technical logs
This website is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, the hosting infrastructure processes technical information necessary to deliver pages to your browser, such as your IP address, the page requested, and basic request metadata. That processing is carried out by the hosting provider for delivery, security and reliability purposes. We do not use it to build profiles of visitors.
Why we use the information
- To respond to your enquiry and to correspond with you about it.
- To assess whether and how BHS can assist with the requirement described.
- To keep a record of our correspondence.
- To meet legal, regulatory or contractual obligations that apply to us.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We may share information internally with the BHS personnel who need it to respond to you, and with service providers who support our email and IT systems under appropriate confidentiality obligations. We may disclose information where we are required to do so by law or by a lawful request from a competent authority.
Retention
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was sent for, and for any period required by applicable law or by a contract. We review what we hold periodically and delete what we no longer need.
Security
We apply reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and email in particular should not be treated as a secure channel for sensitive material.
Your rights
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives individuals rights in relation to their personal data, including rights to access information about the personal data held about them, to seek correction or erasure in defined circumstances, and to raise a grievance. Depending on where you are, other data-protection laws may also give you rights. To exercise a right, or to ask a question about this policy, write to hriday.agm23@iimshillong.ac.in and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
Children
This website is intended for professional and organizational audiences. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Links to other sites
Where this site links to an external website, that site is governed by its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not operate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
