BHS Cybersecurity Technology

BHS Cybersecurity Technology

Cybersecurity technology for protecting networks, applications, operational technology and critical information.

Security challenges

What organizations are defending against

BHS cybersecurity technology is built for environments where a cyber incident has operational, safety or national-security consequences.

  • The attack surface keeps growing — networks, applications, cloud services, operational technology and connected devices all have to be defended together.
  • IT and OT environments have converged in critical infrastructure, where an incident has physical as well as digital consequences.
  • Attackers are persistent and patient, and the time between a foothold and an impact keeps shortening.
  • Visibility is fragmented across distributed sites, legacy systems and multiple tools that do not share a picture.
  • Skilled security people are scarce, so technology has to reduce effort rather than add another console to watch.
  • Security has to be demonstrable — to regulators, to leadership and after an incident.

Capability portfolio

Capability areas rather than a shelf of products

BHS describes its cybersecurity technology by capability area. The configuration that applies to a given organization is established in a technical briefing.

Network & infrastructure security

Protecting the networks, systems and infrastructure an organization runs on.

Application security

Securing the applications and interfaces through which the organization operates.

Cloud security

Extending the same controls and visibility to cloud and hybrid environments.

OT / ICS security

Security for industrial and operational technology, where availability and safety come first.

IoT & connected-device security

Bringing connected devices and sensors inside the security perimeter.

Threat intelligence & monitoring

Detecting and understanding hostile activity against the environment.

Incident response support

Technology that supports containment, investigation and recovery.

Cyber resilience & assurance

Assessing exposure and evidencing that controls work as intended.

Core capabilities

From understanding exposure to recovering from an incident

  1. 01IdentifyEstablish what has to be protected, where it is exposed and what the risk looks like.
  2. 02ProtectApply controls, hardening and segmentation appropriate to the environment.
  3. 03DetectMonitor for hostile activity and surface it in a form a team can act on.
  4. 04RespondSupport containment, investigation and coordinated response to an incident.
  5. 05RecoverRestore operations and feed what was learned back into the architecture.

Deployment & integration

Fitted to the environment

Deployment

Planned around the environment and the information involved

Deployment is agreed per engagement. The scope, the environments covered, the hosting arrangement and the data-handling requirements are established during assessment, together with how the capability will be operated and by whom.

Where an organization has constraints on where systems and data may sit, those constraints shape the deployment rather than the other way round.

Integration

Alongside the tooling already in place

BHS cybersecurity technology is designed to work with existing security tooling, networks, identity systems and operational workflows. Integration is scoped during assessment and delivered through BHS systems integration, including multi-OEM and legacy environments.

Use cases

Where it is applied

  • Protecting critical infrastructure where IT and operational technology share the same risk.
  • Giving a government department or agency consolidated visibility across distributed sites.
  • Securing an enterprise environment that has grown across on-premises, cloud and third-party systems.
  • Standing up or strengthening a security operations capability rather than buying more tooling.
  • Supporting incident response and the investigation that follows it, alongside BHS digital forensics.
  • Assessing exposure before a major deployment, integration programme or technology change.

Industries

Sectors the technology is built for

Organizations whose operations, infrastructure or information carry consequences beyond their own balance sheet.

  • Government & public sector
  • Defence & national security
  • Law enforcement
  • Energy & utilities
  • Transport & aviation
  • Ports & logistics
  • Telecom & data centres
  • Financial infrastructure
  • Healthcare
  • Manufacturing & industrial
  • Research institutions
  • International organizations

Technical overview

Described in concept, detailed in a briefing

At a conceptual level the technology works in four movements: collect security-relevant information from the environment; analyse it to separate normal operation from hostile activity; drive a response through defined workflows; and report in a form that supports both operational decisions and accountability.

BHS does not publish component-level specifications, versions, detection logic or configuration detail. Publishing that information would help an attacker more than it would help a prospective user.

Security architecture

Principles the technology is designed around

  • Defence in depth — no single control is assumed to hold on its own.
  • Least privilege — access is granted narrowly and reviewed.
  • Segmentation — so an incident does not spread freely, particularly between IT and OT.
  • Secure engineering — security requirements are part of the build, not added afterwards.
  • Protection of information in transit and at rest, aligned to the organization’s classification rules.
  • Accountability — actions are logged and auditable so an incident can be reconstructed.

Product documentation

Shared on request, not published

Technical documentation for BHS cybersecurity technology is provided to qualified organizations on request, under a non-disclosure agreement, as part of a technical briefing.
